The premise of Cringe & Now was simple: I’d take old poetry from my 20s and see if I could revise it—clean it up. I promised a walk through— line by line. Maybe I’d rewrite it, incorporating an editor’s advice that I railed against back then. Maybe polish it. Or simply respond to it. I did revisit it, and I did walk through it, but I chose not to rewrite it… though, in a way, I kind of did. I thought it would be one thing,
